🎉 Enjoying the Bank Holiday Weekend? Plan Ahead and Stay Safe! ☀️
Whether you're heading to Notting Hill Carnival, attending local events, travelling to see family and friends, or simply enjoying your local area, we hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Bank Holiday weekend.
If you're attending Carnival or travelling across London, please remember to: 🚆 Plan your journey in advance and check for road closures, station closures, and service changes before you travel and before making your way home. 📱 Keep your phone charged and consider carrying a power bank. 📶 Mobile phone signal can be limited in crowded areas. Consider sharing travel plans before you arrive and take a screenshot of important information, such as directions and tickets, in case you lose signal. 👥 Stay with friends and agree on a meeting point in case you get separated. 🎒 Keep valuables secure and be aware of your surroundings in busy areas. 🍹 Drink responsibly and look out for one another. 🏡 If you're away from home, ensure doors and windows are locked and avoid advertising your absence on social media. 👮 If you need assistance or witness suspicious behaviour, speak to a police officer, steward, or member of event staff. Officers from across London, including some of our Sutton Safer Neighbourhood Team colleagues, will be helping to police Notting Hill Carnival this year, so don't be surprised if you see some familiar faces!
